Vitals:
I was born at Thomas Memorial Hospital on October 14, 1970 in Charleston, West Virginia.  I was raised in Hurricane where I attended Hurricane Elementary, Hurricane Middle School and then Hurricane High School.  My mom remarried the summer before my senior year and therefore, we moved to the Teays Valley area.  I then graduated from Winfield High School.  After graduation, I attended Marshall University in Huntington, WV.  After 2 years, I transferred to West Virginia Institute of Technology (now WVUIT) in Montgomery where I completed my Bachelors in Engineering.
Family:
My husband, Rob, and I first met at WVIT in Montgomery.  After dating for 2 years, we married in 1997 and moved to LaGrange, Georgia.  In 1999, we moved to Marietta, Georgia located on the outskirts of Atlanta.  Rob attended Life College while I worked at IBM.  We started our family while living in Marietta.  Tommy, now 8, was born on September 25, 2000 and Hannah, 4, was born on July 14, 2004.  When Hannah was only 3 months old, we picked up and moved back to Parkersburg, WV (Rob’s hometown).  We visited many churches around town before finding Fairlawn Baptist.  Once we visited Fairlawn, we knew we were home.
When did you join the staff of Fairlawn?
Rob and I began attending Fairlawn early in 2005.  While being content at home with my children, I knew that I needed to find a part-time job.  In April 2005, the position of “assistant treasurer” became available.  I applied and was hired on May 1, 2005.  I later became Treasurer.
What is your primary responsibility at Fairlawn?
My primary responsibility is to manage the churches finances on a daily basis.
What do you love most about working at Fairlawn?
I have been spoiled at Fairlawn after working in the secular world for most of my adult life.  Between the flexible working schedule and the caliber of people I work with, I would never want to leave.  I feel that I work with family.  Some of my best friends work close by my side.  It doesn’t feel like work when you are surrounded by such wonderful, caring people.  It brightens my day just to come into the office.  And when you are troubled, you have friends that you can count on to pick you up.
Who is the most influential person in your life?
My dad, who passed in May 2000, was very influential in my life.  Even now he continues to influence my decisions.  Rob has also been very influential since he came into my life.

 What inspires you?

My family inspires me.
Do You Write With Your Right or Left Hand?
I am right handed.
Any Hidden Talents?
I asked Rob for help on this question.  I guess my hidden talents would be cooking, painting, crafts, and singing.
Life Long Goal:
I’m not sure that I really have one other than being a loving wife and raising my children to love the Lord and be all that He has planned for them to be.
Little Known Fact About Me:
A little known fact about me… hum.  Well, I am a tom-boy at heart and while I was in college, I worked for Consolidation Coal Company in Richlands Virginia.  At the mines, there were about 330 employees, 3 of which were women.  Women were still considered “voodoo” to the mine workers.

Favorites:

Movie:
I like a lot of movies, but “Planes, Trains and Automobiles” is one of my all time favorites.
T.V. Show:
My favorite T.V. shows are no longer running.  I love Frazier and Seinfeld.  Now days, you can find me watching The O’Reilly Factor, CSI, and Designed to Sell on H.G.T.V.
Restaurant:
My favorite restaurant in Parkersburg is Outback.
Food:
My favorite food would be Italian.

Ice Cream:
My favorite ice cream is a tie.  I love cookies-n-cream and chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream.
Drink

My favorite drink is Diet Coke.
Song:
I don’t have one favorite song, but Chris Tomlin is one of my favorite artists.
Junk Food:

I’m not a huge junk food eater.  I love potato chips and pizza.  But if I’m craving something sweet, only Reese’s pieces will do.
